If you are on this page, then you see an error message like this when you attempt to launch Starfield:
There is only really 3 situations where you would see this error:
- Starfield is out of date
- Genesis is out of date
- Some Antivirus snatched up the launch files
Most often, it’s the first two, so we’ll get to them first.
To make sure you’re on the latest version of Genesis, look for the red highlighted text at the top right of Mod Organizer 2. It will display the version number of Genesis you have installed:
If the version number you see is older than the current version of Star Wars Genesis listed on the website, then you must update to the latest version. Follow the Update Guide.
If your Genesis install is up to date, then most likely your Starfield is out of date. The error actually tells you what version of Starfield you have currently installed. It is not lying to you. If the version you see is lower than the version of Starfield required in the website, then you must either update or repair your Starfield through Steam.
