Lightsabers have finally come to Star Wars Genesis! Experience the brand new Imperial Storyline in the latest 8.6 update

Star Wars Genesis is a WIP free, fan-made total conversion project for Starfield. It is fully playable via the Wabbajack auto-installer and receives regular updates and expansions. This is not your typical modlist that combines every mod out there into a jumbled mess and calls it a day, but a carefully structured project built around extensive original creations and systems of my own, thoughtfully incorporating assets and resources from many talented authors. From fully developed faction storylines and large-scale location conversions to a redesigned HUD, environmental and prop replacements, curated music integration, gameplay balancing, and more. Each element is deliberately integrated to ensure a cohesive experience guided by a clear long-term vision.

Star Wars Genesis is developed with a gameplay-first philosophy. The goal is an immersive RPG with a unique story and expansive endgame, rather than a re-skin of Starfield with the same flaws. It strives to improve the base game by implementing bug fixes, new and enhanced gameplay features, upgraded visuals, and more. Vanilla Starfield is best described as a bland exploration game with simply nothing out there for you to explore. Thousands of planets filled with the same repetitive locations, biomes, and enemies. Genesis addresses that by adding new, unique experiences across the galaxy. It is fundamentally different from Starfield at this point, with an expanding list of all gameplay changes here.

Choose to align yourself with either the Empire or the Rebellion and begin climbing through the ranks within their evolving questlines, or carve out an entirely different path of your own. Navigate the vast underworld of Coruscant, moving through shadowed black markets while avoiding Imperial patrols and surveillance. Venture across the galaxy to uncover hidden locations and long-buried secrets, from the ruins of Mandalore and forgotten Clone Wars battlefields on Geonosis to ancient structures on Tython, the frozen wastelands of Hoth, and the barren deserts of Tatooine. The possibilities are endless and expanding with every update.

Star Wars Genesis is striving to create an experience unlike anything else. It aims to become a definitive RPG set in a harsh and unforgiving galaxy not yet explored in modern Star Wars media. Heavily inspired by classic titles such as Star Wars Galaxies, Knights of the Old Republic, and the broader Legends continuity, it remains a work in progress, steadily evolving with each update.

Who will you be in this new galaxy?

Additional Information

Star Wars Genesis features it’s own unique lore and universe, very similar to but separate from the canon Star Wars universe. This gives us the creative freedom that otherwise wouldn’t be possible with the current modding limitations of Starfield. With this creative freedom, we can deliver plenty of familiar references to the source material, but also offer remixed stories for long-time fans to enjoy. You will find spoilers here.
Any issues or questions you have are most probably solved or answered here. From general questions about Star Wars Genesis to technical questions regarding the install. Please briefly read over this before asking a commonly asked question in the Discord that get you pointed to here regardless.

Disney and Lucasfilm
Star Wars Genesis is a free, fan-made, total conversion modlist for Starfield. It is created with a deep love and appreciation for Star Wars as a whole, and attempts to bring fans in a divided community together to enjoy Star Wars for what it is. It is not meant to put down or go against any other Star Wars game or media, and I have no desire to make it ever cost money or look to make a profit from it. In fact, I am very much at a monetary loss in this endeavor.

In the past two years, thousands of people across the world have installed, played, and enjoyed Star Wars Genesis on their personal computer. It is strictly a single-player, offline modification of Starfield. It cannot function as a standalone game, it has no online component, and it exists only as an experience within Starfield’s single-player framework. It functions more like an open-source collection that anyone can replicate themselves, rather than a standalone distributed application. I must emphasize this because throughout the years, there have been many fake and greedy projects such as the KOTOR remake called “Apeiron” and Frontwire’s “Galaxy in Turmoil” that have brought a bad name to the relationship between Disney and the Star Wars modding community. These projects never intended to make a free experience for the fans, and instead sought to make a profit off of them. Many of these project were rightfully taken down, or had their DMCA faked at a desperate attempt to make profit off of fans pursuing their non Star Wars alternative.

Star Wars Genesis stands with countless other passionate Star Wars fan projects that are real and have withstood the test of time due Disney and Lucasfilm’s loose copyright enforcement. This includes but is not limited to Squad’s Galactic Contention, Blade and Sorcery’s Outer Rim, Mount and Blade’s Star Wars Conquest, X4 Foundation’s Star Wars Interworlds, Kenshi’s Project Kathun, and Morrowind’s Starwind.

AI Usage
Star Wars Genesis uses a combination of real voice actors and licensed AI-generated voices. All AI-generated voices featured in the modlist are either custom-created through ElevenLabs prompts or explicitly licensed and purchased from the ElevenLabs voice library. These voices are not trained off of any ingame voice actors or official Star Wars actors. While there are many debates around the ethical usage of AI, Star Wars Genesis ensures that no actual legal boundaries are crossed. Voice actors do not own the NPC that we change the voices of. As a demonstration of good faith: if any voice actor from Starfield expresses concern or offense regarding a new voice replacing their original character, I will promptly make adjustments. Specifically, I will change the character’s name, appearance, and editorID, thereby ensuring that it is a different NPC in technical terms.

Music
I have obtained express permission from LucasFilm directly for many of the music tracks included in my Star Wars Music and Ambience Overhaul mod, which is included in this modlist. There is no John Williams music used anywhere in this modlist. All tracks are from classic Star Wars games such as KOTOR I/II, SWTOR, and Force Unleashed. If you have any questions regarding the validity of this claim, please feel free to contact me directly, and I will provide the necessary documentation and contact information for further verification.
