Linux Installation Process

We have a few unofficial guides for installing Star Wars Genesis on Linux as well as independent resources you can reference to do it yourself if you wish. Following the guides is the recommended approach, as they were written by a Genesis user. Since I don’t use Linux and don’t know much about it, I personally won’t be able to help but we do have a specific Linux-Help channel in the Discord where you can ask questions (and hopefully people will reply).

You can find the latest wabbajack file for Star Wars Genesis here.

Post Install Steps/Tips

  1. Rest of the steps is generally the same as Windows. You will have to do the Manual Document Installation rather than running the bat file.
  2. When doing the manual installation of the documents, you won’t be able to run the powershell scripts but that’s not a big deal. The powershell scripts just configures the ingame settings to Genesis defaults. You can use this page for reference on what settings to use.
Note: If you skip this step, you will encounter many visual bugs.

Common Issues

While I don’t have a Linux, I can at least tell you WHY a specific issue is happening and point you towards the right direction.

> Launching the game is just Starfield and/or all NPCs are missing their bodies

This is caused by your Starfield not using the correct StarfieldCustom.ini that’s included with Genesis. Be sure you did the Manual Document Installation correctly and put the ini in the correct location. There is no situation where this isn’t a document issue, so don’t waste your time doing something else.
