Star Wars Genesis 8.8.4 Patch Notes

This is a pretty significant update, bringing in the Bounty Hunters Guild, the Black Sun vs Pyke Syndicate quest chain, new galaxy map, improved melee animations, and countless bug fixes.

Bounty Hunters’ Guild
  • Replaced all characters in the Bounty Hunters’ Guild with Star Wars characters such as Boba Fett, Dengar, Bossk, and more, with more unnamed/obscure Bounty Hunters coming soon to make the hub look less busy
  • Replaced all conversations and dialogue in the Bounty Hunters’ Guild hub
  • Completely revamped the introduction to the guild
    • You can now simply talk to the guildmaster and their contact in a brief conversation to join the guild and become an official guild bounty hunter, where you’ll be given a Guild Targeting Module, which allows you to spot bounty targets with your scanner
    • The introduction quest now auto-completes after you finish talking with the contact, as it is was clearly written by an intern and had multiple issues with it that could brick your playthrough.
  • Players can talk with the Quartermaster near the bar to exchange guild token for different types of unique loot such as upgrade modules, weapons, and more. You are rewarded 1 guild token per bounty you do for the guild
  • The bounty scanner now features over 200 unique bounty types that fit the world of Star Wars
  • Preparations in moving the guild hub to Nevarro
Nar Shaddaa
  • Added a new chain quest in Nar Shaddaa, triggering when you first enter the city. Work with Black Sun and take on the Pyke Syndicate in 2 action packed quests!
  • Rewrote the Huttese adverts that play around the city
  • Rewrote the activity proc for Brogg’s quest
  • Removed the activity proc for the previously removed quests in 8.83 (this is so you guys stop being spammed with voicelines from the guards about vanilla stuff)
Galaxy Map
  • Replaced the galaxy map with a new lore accurate visual, courtesy of LazyButai and my $1000 bounty
  • Reoriented the star systems to match new visual
  • Moved all remaining vanilla systems to Wild Space section
  • Adjusted fuel and hyperspace jump formulas to account for bigger galaxy
Lightsaber/Melee 3rd Person Animations and Fluidity
  • General improvements to the fluidity of 3rd person melee combat, courtesy of my $300 bounty
    • You can now hold right click to block and let go at any time to unblock, rather than the old 2 second toggle behavior
    • The heavy attack button now does a unique backhanded sweep (previously did nothing)
    • Misc. animation fixes
Performance
  • Added optional mod “Curated Optimization Patch”, which reduces VRAM usage by ~2 GB by downscaling skin/hair textures back to vanilla along with general Coruscant Textures
Upgrade Modules
  • Added support of Upgrade Modules by adding attach points for them in all existing ARMORS (not helmet, backpacks, and weapons)
Music and Sound
  • Fixed an issue where Smuggler’s Outpost interior and exterior music was muted
  • Fixed an issue where punch impact sounds were muted
  • Fixed an issue with Dantooine radio was muted (also replaced one of the tracks with rebel base chatter)

  • Replaced all music that was getting flagged by YouTube copyright with similar lore accurate variants
  • Replaced the music in the Bounty Hunters’ Guild with a custom kotor-era inspired soundtrack from Eric Gordon Berg
  • Replaced the vanilla western music in Dantooine main HQ with 2 variants of Rahm Kota’s theme
  • Fixed a few other muted music
Environmental
  • Replaced medical bed models
  • Aurebeshifyed few new textures
Rebel Questline Modernization Part 1

The Rebel Questline is a bit dated, in that I didn’t have full 100% control of editing quests and dialogue like I do now, and AI voices back then were very rough around the edges. Unfortunately for the latter, I was unable to find any female voice actors, so I simply used more modern V4 voices from ElevenLabs (rather than the current V2). This isn’t a complete rewrite of the questline like I’m doing with the Main Quest, but more of a modernization in the most problematic parts of it that take you out of the experience.

  • Rewrote the initial conversation with Hera at the bar to be more natural and less cringey, and used a more advanced voice
  • Removed 3 extra lines of dialogue from Saw Gerrera’s monologue
  • Added Bounty Hunter, Merc, and Star Wars outfits to Smuggler’s Outpost NPC pool (not compatible with Existing Save Cleaner as that’s way too many IDs)
  • Part 2 will cover the rebel guard’s lines in the intro mission, draven’s lines in the intro mission, nia’s lines in the gallofree mission, and birgit’s lines throughout the entire questline
Side Quests
  • Added a parsec limit to Illicit Acquisition quest so it doesn’t take you to buttfuck (please keep reporting stuff like this if you see it)
  • Fixed a few unconverted lines with Brellock
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed the missing Lady Luck ship model in rebel questline
  • Nerfed the speed of the following ships due to our new Nimble Ships framework:
    • N-1 Mandalorian Starfigher
    • N-1 Naboo Starfighter
    • TIE Advanced
    • Delta 7 Starfighter
  • Fixed an issue where rebels could spawn with the wrong ammo type for their gun and instead use their fists to attack you
  • Fixed bugged 1st person ship view of around ~10 helmets
  • Fixed an issue where Duracrete Slugs were just called “Duracrete”
  • Fixed typo in Separatist Roots
  • Fixed a few improperly named locations when interacting with their respective entrance/door
  • Added a branch of mercenary armors without Trandoshans specifically for mannequin spawns to prevent clipping
  • Fixed a missing comma in existing save cleaner, causing it to not work
  • Fixed the 2 missing dialogues for the Black Sun Merc at Gallofree
  • Fixed minor typo in player response to Meeka
  • Covered a possible edge case where Rica may revert back to the name of Lin
  • Adjusted XP values of inquisitors/hunters (I accidently left them all super high)
  • Fixed a bug where Artifact Hunters would attack each other
  • Fixed incorrect tooltip telling players to do a challenge in the skill tree when they didn’t meet the requirements. New message reads “Invest more skill points in this tree to unlock this tier.”
  • Remade a few duped materials from the old contraband mod to fix texture issues
  • Properly renamed the remaining set of “Crimson Flt” ships still showing up to Crimson Dawn
  • Fixed some leftover vanilla text in Awakening quest log
  • Fixed various missing credit amounts in Nar Shaddaa diaologue
  • Updated some map markers and cleaned edits that may be causing rare issues in Geonosis
  • Hid perk “Attack Stagger” from skill tree (this was for NPCs. So if you invested in it, enjoy being a stagger god lol)
General Maintenance and Cleanup
  • Removed missing content popup when loading a save that had missing plugins. Courtesy of Mojo and my $100 bounty
  • Updated to latest version of Starfield Engine Fixes
  • Renamed the Large Menu Font setting to properly indicate it is unsupported and automatically set it to OFF when running the bat
