Star Wars Genesis is set during the Galactic Civil War (2 BBY – 3 ABY). While the Genesis timeline is based on Canon, there have been some creative liberties taken place to incorporate aspects from Legends, such as the Rakghoul Plague, Yuuzhan Vong, and specific characters. It is very Force Unleashed inspired, where the storylines are nested around canon events in order to be grounded, while also remaining unpredictable, entertaining, and most importantly, fun.

7945 C.R.C. | 32 BBY (events of Phantom Menace)
  • A young Anakin Skywalker is found by the Jedi Order on the planet of Tatooine.
  • The Battle of Naboo occurs
  • Senator Sheev Palpatine is elected Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic
7955 C.R.C. | 22 BBY (events of Attack of the Clone)
  • The Separatist Crisis ends and the Clone Wars begin with the First Battle of Geonosis.
7958 C.R.C. | 19 BBY (events of Revenge of the Sith)
  • Maul’s criminal alliance Shadow Collective is founded, initially dissolved, and later reformed.
  • The Siege of Mandalore begins.
  • The Great Jedi Purge begins with Order 66.
  • The Galactic Empire is founded, with Palpatine as Emperor.
  • Anakin Skywalker slaughters the Separatist Council on Mustafar

  • The Empire evacuates and bombards Kijimi following the outbreak of an ancient rakghoul virus, leaving behind a single forward operating base.

  • The containment of the Rakghoul virus is proven unsuccessful, as Rakghouls are now seen in countless settled systems across the Galaxy.

  • Geonosis is sterilized by the Empire to ensure the secrecy of the Death Star project
  • The Empire establishes an extensive mining campaign on Geonosis and other planets for war resources.

So how exactly will this all work? How will the passage of time be shown while you’re playing? The idea is that we will follow a sort of chronological order of major quests. For example, you will not be able to do the GCW questline until you’ve done the Imperial Questline. Any standalone quests that are added may be placed before or after certain quest completion triggers, and then the galaxy map will change according to what “stage” you’re in.

For example, let’s say you’re in the middle of the Imperial Questline. While doing it, you go to Scarif. You will see a tropical biome. Now let’s say you return to Scarif AFTER the Imperial Questline is complete and while you’re doing the GCW questline. It will now show up as destroyed and have an apocalyptic/destroyed biome.
