Incompatible Apps

This is a list of all known incompatible applications that Genesis doesn’t work together with. Please switch them off. Antivirus applications are included in this list as well since some people don’t even know they have an antivirus but would recognize the name. Simply turning off the antivirus application will not be enough. Follow the steps here.

• AMD StoreMI – Causes game to crash/freeze very often.
• BitDefender – Causes a wide variety of launch issues.
• Discord Game Overlay (not Discord itself) – Causes stuttering and performance issues.
• Intel Extreme Tuning Utility – Not a hard incompatibility, but people overclocking their CPU have naturally had increased crashing in Genesis.
• Kaspersky – Causes a wide variety of launch and ingame issues.
• McAfee – Causes a wide variety of launch and ingame issues.
• Nahimic – Causes a wide variety of launch and ingame issues.
• Norton – Causes a wide variety of launch and ingame issues.
• NVIDIA Performance Overlay – Causes stuttering/freezing.
• RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS) – Causes the game to be in slow motion.
• Total Ultimate Defense – Causes launch issues.
• USB Hub – If your mouse/keyboard is connected to a USB hub and you are experiencing stuttering, I recommend trying to play without it.
• SteelSeries Audio Software – Causes a wide variety of issues for some people. Zero issues for others.
• Sonic Studio/Sonic Suite – Causes a wide variety of issues.
