Star Wars Genesis 8.3.0 Patch Notes
This is a narrative, balance, and general progression type of update. The Yuuzhan Vong main story has been given a revamp. Many blasters have been buffed, and progression has been made slower and more rewarding.
Main Story Revamp
Revisited the main story and made many necessary changes such as completely swapping the beginning to make logical sense with any background, converting all the vanilla 1 on 1 conversations with your companions and linking them back to new genesis mechanics, character swaps, revisions, and any other missed lines.
- Added a quest that’s enabled upon game start that takes you to the Lodge and gives you context on the main quest (existing saves will have this too, sorry)

- Rewrote and revoiced the final main story NPC and the 2 default optionals

- Keeper Aquilus is now Veris Hydan with various dialogue changes
- Various unaltered dialogues throughout the story have been rewritten and revoiced
- All Yuuzhan Vong bosses use an Organic Blade instead of a blaster
Vanilla Research Simplification and Conversion
Why do you have to level Gastronomy up to be able to research how to make meatloaf? There’s an extra step here which is unnecessary and redundant.
- Removed the Food and Drink research category and replaced it with Biotechnology that will be used for Yuuzhan Vong armor replication
- Removed the Pharmacy research category and replaced it with Exotic Metallurgy, which will be used for Mandalorian Armor crafting
- Removed “Sudden Development” chance entirely
- All food and drinks can now be crafted as long as you meet the Gastronomy skill rank requirement. There is no longer a research requirement
- All medicine can now be crafted as long as you meet the Gastronomy skill rank requirement. There is no longer a research requirement
Exotic Metallurgy Research
- Beskar Forging can be researched up to 4 tiers, with each tier allowing you to further upgrade the armor at the Mandalorian Forge on Mandalore,
- This Beskar Forging skill will additionally be tied to Mandalorian Armor Crafting in the future,
- Fixed the workbench preview of the Mandalorian Chestpice model
Biotechnology Research
- Yuuzhan Vong bosses no longer drop their armor and instead drop a unique vonduun crab shell that can be researched and reverse engineered,
- Upon researching each boss’s unique shell, their respective armor without any capes/hoods/masks can be crafted at the Biotechnology Station at the Lodge,
- All vonduun crab armors crafted at the Biotechnology Station will be unique with curated legendary perks,
- All variants of Vong armor have had their see through holes/clipping fixed along with a new female model. Shoutout to Bonepunk for that!
Environment and Visuals
- Added some minor bloom back to the game to liven up the nightlife in cities and make the galaxy map clearer
- Replaced some stone ramps in Coruscant with metal walkways,
- Additional lighting and holograms,
- Added more junk around the upper undercity

- Removed House of Enlightenment sign (just the letters),
- Fixed broken hologram effect on Dejarik Board,
- Added hologram effect to goal posts
Progression
- Created a common helmet and common armor leveled list that will replace randomly generated loot and vendor pools. These common helmets and common armors have no mandalorian-level armor and are very much so just scrap/mercenary gear. If you want good gear, you have to kill for it, craft it, or buy it from the black market.,
- The leveling curve has been adjusted so that it takes more XP to level. It is still linear,
- Buffed XP from Bounty Hunter boss (spoiler) villa
- The Mandalorian Armor quest has been given a level 25 requirement

- Replaced Starfield icon from Status menu with a custom one,
- Removed Starfield icons from data menu and replaced skill point icon at top right with custom one
AT-STs
AT-STs have been so massively reworked that they have to be their own category
- All flinch/stagger/dodge animations have been removed. No more CC locking them down,
- All variants have 30k+ HP with very high damage resist,
- All variants give 6k+ XP,
- The grenade spam mechanic they used to do is completely removed,
- Their blaster and rocket damage has been increased
Partisans
- Added 5 new armors to the Partisan faction and reorganized their usage,
- Leader NPCs have 3 armor choices while non-leaders have 8,
- Replaced the glitchy kama on the two spec ops armors
HP Regen Balance
The HP regen implemented in 8.2 was a bit too strong in endgame to the point that you were brushing off damage with any decent-ish armor. An endgame character with all buffs has a total of 2 health regen per second now.
- Reduced base health regen from 1.5 to 0.5,
- The rejuvenation perk effect has been reduced from 3 to 0.5,
- Reduced food health regen from 1 to 0.5,
- Reduced drink health regen from 1 to 0.5
Blasters
- All blue blaster bolts have a new impact effect,
- 6 new blasters have been added, courtesy of Crozzbow,

- Imperial Moff’s Blaster has been added to the black market (Gideon’s blaster model),
- Modified Bounty Hunter’s Blaster has been added to the black market (Caij Vanda’s blaster model),
- The wrong attachments for the LW-896 have been removed,
- Significantly reworked many blasters with Mojo and performed minor buffs on others. Too many to list. If you notice your blaster in your inventory does alot less dmg after the update, just drop it on the ground and spawn in a new one,
- Changed the reticles on a few LMG blasters,
- All invisible blaster models (2 or 3) have been fixed,
- Replaced the Ion Disruptor with an illegal blaster like the Amban that you can charge up and vaporize people with,
- The default pacifist blaster in the game is now the standalone “Stun Blaster” or “Stun Baton”,
- Many unique blasters rewards such as “Acid Rain” and “Fiscal Quarter” have been made standalone. They now all are named after their original blaster, and instead have (Modified) at the end of their name. Many of them such as the Blurrg-1120 have received extra effects compared to common version,
- Explosive blasters such as the G125 and A-180 have been removed from generic leveled lists and added to black markets and specific boss NPCs. Their damage has been significantly increased,
- Explosive ammo is now 1000 credits each and much rarer to acquire

Tatooine
- Fixed the overpriced Stormtrooper Armor in Tatooine,

- Buffed Tatooine melee weapon damage,
POIs
- Hutt Cartel, Pykes, Rebel Alliance, and Militia now spawn in more POIs
Shadow Collective + Imperial Storyline Conflict
- Removed the option to work undercover for the ISB while working for the Empire. Unfortunately the quest shares the same dialogue whether working for them voluntarily or a convict. So if I make them treat you harshly, then it doesn’t make sense as an Imperial. If I make them treat you as an Imperial, it doesn’t make sense as a convict.
- I’d rather the quest be a convict only story. Just doesn’t make much sense for the Empire to hand over some recruit that joined 3 hours ago a mission to infiltrate the Shadow Collective and take them down compared. It makes much more sense for them to specifically hire a criminal with an existing reputation.
Black Market
- Added 3 new helmets to black market pool and 1 existing helmet
Ships
- Significantly nerfed the cargo space in the X-Wing,
- Significantly nerfed the cargo space in the TIE Advanced,
- Significantly nerfed the cargo space in both N-1 Starfighters,

- Certain companions like Andreja, Sarah, and Barrett had their outfits binded to them. You are now free to unequip those outfits off them and give them whatever you want
Planet/System Renames:
- Hyla -> Denab System
- Hyla II -> Seatos
Performance
- Archived the last remaining armor textures for better performance. Menu lag and general performance will be improved, but please be aware that it is still dependent on your VRAM. Someone with 8 GB of VRAM might have menu lag every 1 out of 5 pauses, while someone will 24 GB of VRAM will never have it
- Approximately 23% of users had their menu lag fixed in 8.2, for a total of 78% of users not having menu lag. I hope to make that 90% and above in the future
